After I installed Leopard I couldn't get it to launch at login..... emailed support and heard back in minutes and quickly got the problem solved ( i had to update to newest realease ). All others I tried can't do what this one does.

I've tried menu meters and used net monitor for a few years - it's never crashed, it's stable and easy to use, and Net Monitor can be a lot more discrete with screen real estate. It allows you to determine easy to read and different graphs, depending on how you want to view information - and it gives you extra information with its "tools". Menu meters is also a good application, less configurable, but free. However, it's pretty hard to complain about the price of Net Monitor given that it's only $10 new and if you upgrade there's a 50% discount which brings the upgrade price to $5 - that's not enough money to be a determining factor in my book.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Those that compare NetMonitor to MenuMeters ar, IMHO, ignoring aesthetics. NetMonitor can be configured to be simply beautiful in your menu bar. I have a wide bar graph display with fade out and transparency, and it looks like it was designed to be part of Mac OS X, while being very functional. I also use MenuMeters for some of its other functions, but its network graphing can't come close to NetMonitor's. I recommend NetMonitor highly.

Never ever support programs that try to connect unauthorized to anywhere without notifying you before and having an good reason/purpose for it. At least the latter one is nearly unrealizable, there is no reason.   And if an author wants to persuade you of its harmlessness, kick off his balls!
