MusixMatch shows you lyrics for the currently playing song, displaying them in a beautiful floating interface on top of the album artwork and integrating with major Android music players, including Google Play Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
Pros
Improved interface: MusixMatch looks better than ever; the new version comes with an improved sidebar, better screen transitions, and a polished and smooth interface that's a pleasure to use.
Capable music player: Although it's essentially a lyrics app, MusixMatch proves to be a reliable music player in its own right, supporting ALAC and FLAC formats, allowing you to easily change the album artwork, and featuring a capable equalizer. The best part is that it doesn't overtax your memory or CPU.
Great integration into the Android UI: You don't have to stay in a music player all the time to check the lyrics -- the FloatingLyrics feature enables you to view them on any screen, as well as to resize the lyrics window. With a quick tap, you can even turn it into a screen bubble that can be enlarged at any time.
Cons
Useful but not perfect MusicID: The app's song identification feature, MusicID, can pick up most songs with vocals, whether they are sung on TV, Radio, or live by a person, but does a poor job at identifying instrumental songs or classical music.
Lyrics not always accurate: While the app can find lyrics for almost any song, even from more obscure indie bands, the quality of the lyrics is not always great.
Bottom Line
MusixMatch may not get all lyrics right, but it integrates so well into the Android interface and is so easy to use that it stands out from the horde of lyrics apps available on Google Play. Additional features like MusicID, FLAC support, and the equalizer make it hard to resist. If you listen to music on your mobile device, you will probably fall in love with this app.
