Mac OS X software to quickly and easily rename large numbers of music files. MusicRenamer is a powerful mp3 file renaming tool. It helps to avoid spending hours of hard boring manual editing of mp3 filenames. You will rename your mp3 filenames easier and faster and you'll see your mp3 list with consistent order in filenames. The renamer converts easily any rare and strange filename to a simple format containing the album name, track number, artist and title. You will be asked to select a folder that contains MP3, AAC, M4A, or M4P files. These files will be renamed based on the ID3 tags contained within them. If no ID3 tags are found the filename will be left unaltered.

You can rename your songs with combinations of the artists name, album name, track number, song title, composer, and genre in the order you specify. In a few clicks, your music library will be organized according to the format you prefer.

neat little app, but it has a fatal flaw

Pros
Very simple to use. Check or uncheck tag fields to be used in renaming files, drag the tag fields in the order you want them in the file name.
Cons
The last letter of each tag field was omitted from the file names! For example, I had a song where the Artist tag is Lady Gaga, and the Title tag is Bad Romance. I unchecked all the the fields except Artist and Title, and the file was renamed "Lady Gag - Bad Romanc". This happened for *every* file. Also bad: you can only rename an entire folder at a time, not just one or some files in a folder.

Pros
It's a very simple to use application. Select your naming format, point at you music folder, click start and off it goes.
Cons
This is not a ID3 tag editor. You already have to have your ID3 tags in order, then this application will change the filenames for you in your desired format.
