This disk-defragmentation utility proves to be a more advanced choice than Windows' built-in defragmenter. Mst Defrag Home Edition's simple but functional interface displays defrag action in real time via a user-customizable colored chart. The View panel displays data such as file system type, memory capacity, and fragmented files. Besides defragmenting your computer, the program also can scan hard drives for problems and monitor operations in the background to optimize system performance while you work. Unlike Windows' built-in defragmenter, the app lets you locate fragmented files' exact locations and explore individual clusters. In our tests, the program's defragging speed seemed about average, though it didn't noticeably slow down our PC while doing its thing. Although the 15-day trial may seem too short for some, intermediate to advanced users in search of a solid defragger should put this one on their list.

It's fast and does not consume much resources

mst Defrag is really fast. The cpu and memory usage is extremly low. And, it's cheap. I like that it runs in the background.

THESE FOLKS WOULD NOT RESPOND TO MY EMAIL REQUEST FOR A REFUND. I HAD TO CALL SHARE-IT WHO IS THERE TRANSACTION AGENT. THEY WERE VERY KIND AND GAVE ME A REFUND NO QUESTIONS ASKED. IT'S A SHAME THAT MST SOFTWARE DID NOT HAVE THIS KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. SINCE MST WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY, I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. IF YOU NEED A REFUND ON ONE OF THERE PRODUCTS THEN DO WHAT I DID AND PRY IT FROM THEIR POCKETBOOK THROUGH THERE TRANSACTION AGAENT. ALSO WOULD NOT HELP ME WITH TECHNICAL SUPPORT....

For some reason, this program slowed down my system considerably. When I uninstalled the program, my system began to function much better immediately. I'm using Ashampoo's defragmentor now. Even though I read that its ability to defragment approximates that of the built-in windows defragmentor, my computer operates much better with this automated program.

have used this software for some time now and I feel my computer works better and faster. Doesn't use that mauch resources as other defragger. It is the only defragmentation software you do not need to configure. It works completly in the background. Recommended!

A no-nonsense easy to use defragmenter, with some minor downfalls. The interface is free from clutter, the help file is easy to understand and intuitive. And while it features similar options seen in competiting products, such as color shading, chkdsk, and various file placement strategies these have to be configured via registry keys, as described in the Help file, and are not accessible via the main interface. However, this becomes less important as you discover the products true potential - low memory useage, ClusterExplorer, and a recently used files monitor, which, unlike other similar programs can be turned off in real-time, if it suits you. This gem packs a punch mightier than similar products but of a higher cost, albeit at the expense of a few features.

I have tried them all: O&O, Perfect Disk, Voptxp, Ashampoo magical defrag. I own and use at the moment Diskeeper 9 Home. <p>MST defragments in the background ( you can also defragment manualy) and does this efficiently (I test this with DK analyses) and safely, this contrary to some of the others. No windows error reports afterwards. Furthermore it does not slow down my system when working in the background; it is hardly noticeable doing its job. It does not conflict with Kaspersky Personal (Diskeeper's automatic defrag "set and forget" does not work wit KAV and when running "set and forget" in combination with other AV, DK slows down my system to a crawl). <p>Some people will find MST lacks some features. I do not miss bells and whistles I never use. <p>When the trial period is over I am going to buy this program. ( Btw it is very reasonable priced.) <p> <p>Martin STiemerling has done a great job. <p> <p> <p>Kapro, <p>The Netherlands. <p> <p>Dell Dimension 5000 <p>P4 3.2 GHZ <p>1 GB memory <p>80 GB HD

I have 2 HD's in my PC and Mst Defrag 1.8 started an unauthorized "autodefrag" on my BackUp HD !!! without reconfirmation. <p> <p>The product could not be stopped, and all my backup's were messed up. I do NOT recommend this product.
