The m-Shakti App:

The Indian Cancer Society brings to you a revolution in womens healthcare the m-Shakti app. Useful for women everywhere, the app is an easy-to-understand, at-home guide that demystifies breast and cervical cancer illnesses that plague women of reproductive age commonly, but are seldom understood well.

Designed with the aim to simplify and educate, m-Shakti incorporates intuitive and interactive design, simple explanations and comes with an optional voiceover. Currently, it is available in Hindi, with an English version in the offing. m-Shakti is named after its eponymous mascot, Shakti didi, who was created to humanise the app experience. She is a friend, guide and mentor who handholds the user through every bit of information that includes signs, risks, preventive measures, proactive measures and self-examinations. A colour-coding of pink and teal, shades that universally represent breast and cervical cancer, has been adopted to visually distinguish the cancers.
