Although we think this simple utility performs a useful job, a few stability and performance issues prevent us from being more enthusiastic. In short, MP3 Printer scans your PC for several types of digital music files, then catalogs your collection in an organized list. Upon launch, the program gives you the option to scan certain drives or folders, playlists, and your CD drive. Unfortunately, we could never get the app to work with the latter feature. When we used MP3 Printer to scan a large hard drive with music files scattered throughout, we were pleased with its speed and accuracy. However, whenever we attempted to multitask while the program was searching for tunes, it froze up and crashed. On the plus side, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of control you have over the appearance of your list. For instance, you can customize what type of info appears, change the color scheme to your liking, reorder files according to certain parameters, and even create basic CD cases. Still, if you frequently add to your collection, you may need to register the utility, as the demo won't let you save a list and scrambles the letters if you attempt to print. Though it certainly isn't an ideal application, folks with large MP3 collections may be able to look past this app's flaws.

It didn't work for me at all. Maybe it needs a real live tree-gobbling printer attached to work properly. I have no use for paper output, so I only have a generic/text-only print to file. The program wouldn't even display a listing in its window until, by trial and error, I removed the default bold etc. font options. I was hoping to use its touted HTML output, but couldn't get there; maybe it's only in the full version? Most other functions like copy-to-clipboard can't be tested because they're disabled in the demo version. VBR MP3s only display "VBR", not the average bitrate; that alone makes it useless to me. To me, the limitations and shortsightedness of this program are severe.

I have looked at so many CD Jewel case label printers and none of them did what I wanted. This one did. If you have ~120 mp3s and want a fast Jewel case label listing all the tracks - this is the one. It inputs, flows and automatically sizes the text to fit on front, back and inside covers or whatever combination of these you want without typing. No fancy graphics for backgrounds, but they obsure text anyway so who needs that. PS. Support the artists - buy their CDs or downloads. Don't rip off the musicians. Keep the music flowing!

MP3 Printer learns information about a collection of MP3 files (from a CD or hard disk) and prints a summary of this information on a single page in one of several formats including CD jewel box inserts, booklets, and full page. It automatically finds the optimal font size so information fits into the selected format on a single page. MP3 Printer retains natural track order and optionally adds album and track number to assist in track nagivation.
