Motorhead is a car-racing simulation in which speed makes the difference. Set in the near future, the action takes place at the six venues of the Transatlantic Speed League. Venues range from downtown highways to abandoned mining facilities, and success is rewarded with additional cars and courses. Along with the spectacular crashes and breathtaking speed, the most impressive thing about this game is the AI. Unlike traditional racing games, there are no fixed paths or static patterns in the Motorhead engine. The game uses real-world physical data to make the collisions more realistic. It has been enhanced with full Direct3D support, giving great visuals on PowerVR, 3Dfx, and RIVA 128-based cards. There's also a software-rendered version for those of you without a 3Dfx card.

This version features support for Mplayer for easy connection to other racers online.

I bought this game a while ago, and it has since proved to be the best recing game I own. I have a VooDoo 3 2000 PCI card, and a relativly slow computer, but the graphics and speed of this game were astonishing. Not to mention the WICKED AI. This is a must-have game for any racing fans out there.

It's 2 years since Motorhead appeared, but it's still my favourite. I know there are programs with more features, better graphics (e.g. NFSHS), but the ATMOSPHERE of Motorhead is unbeatable.
