Dr Mervyn Tyrer MBBCH (Wits) Dip HIV Med (London) GMC:3606241, graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (SA) in 1989.His early career involved private general practice with a special interest in the holistic care of people living with, and dying from HIV / AIDS.With the intention of pursuing a more academic career in HIV medicine, Mervyn transferred to London's Royal Free Hospital, where he has worked as an Associate Specialist to Professor Margaret Johnson in the Department of Infection and Immunity. He has cared for a large cohort of people living with HIV since 1994.He manages many aspects of primary care (in the absence of designated primary care pathways for HIV-infected patients within the NHS Primary Care System) and all aspects of specialist care including management of severe life-threatening opportunistic infections and HIV related malignancies.He has become a well respected expert in complex anti-retroviral management.From 2009 - 2015 Mervyn consulted in private practice on Harley Street, London.His areas of expertise remain HIV specialist care and general sexual health.This App has Push Notification enabled which allows you to view App messages sent directly from the business straight to your lock screen; Push Notification feature must be enabled for this to work.
