Create mosaic images composed of many smaller ones of any kind.

Mazaika is a photomosaic creation application. It produces mosaic images composed from many small images, such as a Truman Show movie poster--a composite of hundreds of little pictures to mimic another larger image. You can use image files in almost any format and size for this composition. Mazaika can assemble mosaics from digital camera shots, captured video/movie frames, and scanned photos. There are many adjustable parameters for control of the creation process. You may change any single tile in the mosaic and insert a custom tile into the position you want or into the most suitable position. The resulting mosaic is saved as one big BMP, JPEG, or TIFF file. The new version has a simple wizard interface, a context help system, a recent used files menu, custom cropping adjustments for the tile library, and a TIFF file format output.

-Well, I happen to make a photomosaic with this application -Its own website has a picture library on it where you can download numerous pictures that can be used for this application -fast in converting

Pros
Straightforward, fast. Looks for pictures in subfolders. Allows selecting how many times you wish to have a photo repeated within the mosaic. Provides freedom to select size, shape, and quantity of photos that compose the mosaic.
Cons
Better to crop and resize images before using the software, to make sure the portion of interest is used, otherwise every image receives same crop/stretch treatment for use in the mosaic.
Summary
Suggestions fomr improvement: 1. During library creation, besides crop and stretch options for tiles, allow increase canvas size without increasing image size, for use with icons or cliparts. 2. After rendering mosaic, in show file option allow changing selected portion of image to be used in the mosaic. Great tool for somebody that just wants to play around. If you are a perfectionist, and want every photo to be perfectly fitted and croped, is still very useful but you will need a photo editor software to treat them beforehand and lots of time to do so. I could access the help menu, and would have liked (though doesn't really matter) that the tool supports .PNG and allows selecting source images from different folders). In any case the tool is very powerful and provides a nice result, even big mosaics and lots of source files. Final recomendation of users, try to have lots of source images handy, because result looks much better when images are repeated as less as possible.

This program stinks. It says you can use it for 30 days, but really the features are limited as well so it's pretty much useless. It doesn't matter, because it crashes half of the time anyway. Don't bother with this pile of junk.
