You can email your Magic Maps files to other Magic Maps users, or you can export your maps in many formats for use in presentations, articles, blog posts, YouTube, or data programs. Like illustrations software, Magic Maps displays maps in layers; unlike illustration software, each layer can have multiple data fields which are used to color the map. To see a particular entity's data, just click it; to see an aggregation of multiple entities, draw a selection box or use the Command key. To see a map evolve over time, click the "Play" button in the bottom left. To zoom or pan the map, use familiar multi-touch gestures. Magic Maps can import data from CSV, Shapefiles, and KML files and supports UTF-8, Unicode, Latin-1, and Windows-1252 text encodings. Supported export formats include CSV, PDF, MOV, PNG, KML, and DSPL. Built-in math functions let you perform analysis right in the program; with the click of a mouse, you can compute the year-over-year change in absolute or percentage terms; sum multiple variables together; divide one variable by another; compute the natural logarithm; scale by powers of 10; compute a rolling average; compute a weighted average; or interpolate missing years. Magic Maps includes four professional map projections: Albers Equal Area, Lambert Conformal Conic, Mercator, and Winkel Tripel. Each can be instantly previewed, and customized using multi-touch gestures. Finally, GIS junkies can count points and compute areas and lengths.
