Featuring a video converter and a Web browser with an embedded media downloader, Mac Video Downloader for Mac helps you find and grab audio and video files from virtually any video-sharing Web site. This premium app manages to detect approximately 90 percent of all videos, with a 100 percent success rate for popular sites like YouTube and Vimeo, but it eats a lot of system resources.

After a quick installation, Mac Video Downloader launches its built-in browser. The browser, itself, behaves just like Safari with one exception: it lets you change the User Agent between Mac, iOS, and Android, effectively emulating the Web browsers of mobile devices. As soon as you land on a page with embedded audio or video content, Mac Video Downloader will pop up a window through which you can choose which file to download. The download is generally fast, but it depends of course on your connection. The conversion is also relatively fast; we were able to convert a four-minute FLV file to an MP4 in about 20 seconds. When it comes to performance, however, the app leaves a large footprint: over 500MB of RAM.

Mac Video Downloader provides an all-in-one solution for anyone who wants to download and convert media files for their mobile devices or just to keep locally on their Mac. While this app does its job well, the price tag and the large amount of RAM it eats are two big disadvantages, especially when comparing the app to the many free and better optimized options out there.

Pros
The program works like a browser and you must access the video content like you would thru any other browser. Once you start to play the video a download dialog box opens. From time to time you need to download the free update to keep the software working properly so keep the download link. The customer support is through email, however they respond quickly and are helpful.
Cons
Sense of this software is imperfect, needs to be improved.

My registration never worked, but all emails to support have gone unanswered. I've emailed them six times in the past year and nothing. This software is a total scam.

It's unique and powerful. I can download videos from many video sites now. A very good software, very convenient to use them. It's worth to order!

Stopped working and no support

Used to work OK even if you had to reload the hulu web page several times before it would finally detect the video you want to download
Cons
Stopped working for Hulu a few weeks ago and cant detect any videos. This week it wont even load the hulu web page saying flash is out of date even when its running the latest flash download from adobe.

It doesn't download videos, plan and simple. It's successfully detected 1 out of 20 videos I've tried to record, and they've been a series of YouTube, Vimeo, and other videos. It won't run on Macs in OS 10.10. When I emailed support, they never replied. I followed up four times over a month, and nothing. $60 GONE DOWN THE DRAIN.

This application sucks. I'd say their support sucks as well, but how can something suck if it doesn't exist? At this point, I think it's probably a scam.

Awesome program! This is pretty much a very easy way to download videos from websites. You download using very few clicks. I usually don't like to pay for software for fear of not getting what you pay for, but it works great and it's definitely worth the spending. Had some technical difficulties where I couldn't use it for a few; missed this software so bad during this time ... when I finally contacted customer service, they got back to me super fast and were very helpful. I honestly could not be happier with the product or customer service.

There is nothing much positive to say about the software. When I download youtube videos, half the time it doesn't work.
Cons
I bought their lifetime package about a year ago. Then all of a sudden it does not work. I have trying to contact them to for several months now and still no response. I am out of $160. This software does network. I emailed support@mvdigger.com, sales@mvdigger.com, webmaster@mvdigger. I still haven't from them.
