  Pros

  Good tutorials introduce you to the nice spread of units and structures - the need to search for and transport resources adds to the challenge. The scalable zoom makes it easy to keep track of units (both yours and the enemy) and see the "big picture" (literally) but not miss out on the details.

  Cons

  DOS-based which may not play so well with XP but runs well under DOSBox
