Used Lyn for Mac?
Editors’ Review
Lyn for Mac serves as a gallery for all your images, whether local, remote, or on a connected camera. The app comes with a free trial and offers a handy way of geotagging images just by dragging and dropping them onto a map. It's also equipped to handle the editing of metadata for multiple images at a time, as well as to convert them to another format.
Lyn for Mac features a clean main screen with a toolbar through which you can adjust the view options and share images to popular services like Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, and Dropbox, and a sidebar where you can add images to view in a local or remote library or from a connected camera. The app's hidden info panel lets you see and edit the metadata of your images. The software also features extensive batch operations that can add or replace metadata, rename files, or convert images. We tested this functionality and managed to add a city to 150 images in under a second. Though overall the app integrates well in OS X, during testing we've found that it fails to display the photos on a connected iPhone.
Lyn for Mac tries to be a jack of all trades. In a way it succeeds, being good at a lot of things, but it doesn't do anything perfectly. Still, if you want to play a slideshow, crop some photos, add some ratings, or quickly convert hundreds of photos, all through the same app, you'll find this product good to have on your Mac.
Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Lyn for Mac 1.3.7.
