Lugaru is a third-person action title. The main character, Turner, is an anthropomorphic rebel bunny rabbit with impressive combat skills. In his quest to find those responsible for slaughtering his village, he uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving the corrupt leaders of the rabbit republic and the starving wolves from a nearby den. Turner takes it upon himself to fight against their plot and save his fellow rabbits from slavery.

Lugaru's primary feature is its unique combat system. Instead of relying on confusing button combinations to perform moves, Lugaru's moves are all logical and context sensitive. For example, if an opponent aims a roundhouse kick at Turner's head, you can crouch and then stand up under the attack to grab your assailant's leg and kick him away. If you try and punch an opponent and he tries to throw you over his shoulder, you can crouch to roll painlessly out of the throw.

Best Fighting game ever

Pros
The graphics are very good even on a not so good computer. The combat system is very unique and wonderful you can keep playing this game for hours without getting bored. There are lots of user made mods available for lugaru and they are very good there is a debug mode which can be used for level editing or for cheating or flying if you enjoy flying around.
Cons
The only problem with this game is that some of the game (the weapons in particular) is made in a format that is unique and non editable so the weapons and other things can not be edited very well so they have to stay mainly the same concepts so no adding new weapons just the sword knife and staff concepts.

Great fighting system, decent graphics, fun weapons, and I love the knives makes it real easy just throw them and if it hits right instant kill!

Not very many kinda short. Only one weapon (knife) and challenges stop at level 4.

Pros
A very well developed game for someone who spends their free time on it! I have a slow graphics card but it still runs reasonably smooth. The traditional "hero's village is destroyed" plot makes the game all the more reason to play. Adding to that, the controls for combat are pretty simplistic, unlike other fighting games where you have to memorize crazy combinations to execute that "Super Bamboozling Double Combo Manuever... With A Cherry On Top!" Quite often, when an opponent is given a hard hit, the game does a slo-mo effect which is nice.
Cons
Um... let's see, voices could be added to the dialogue. Rabbit noises take away the seriousness that the music portrays.

Pros
when i first downloaded it i started laughing, but then i got a hang of the combat system and started really liking the game. this psycho bunny is equipped qith an impressive arsenal of martial arts moves and nice weapons.
Cons
of course i wasnt expecting an excessively in-depth storyline, but the dialogue is wrought with lame kung-fu movie lines and annoying bunny chirps, and the story is about as deep as the napkin it was written on when the designer thought it up in some restaurant. but, those aside, the combat and the nice, smooth animation pretty much make up for these minor flaws.

1. The unique battle system. It makes it so that combat is as realistic as possible while keeping controls easy to master. E.g. Opponent tries a spin-kick. You see this and duck under it. Then, you can either (a) Wait for the attack to finish, then rise and attack, (b) Sweep his legs from under him before he has time to pull out of the attack, or (c) Rise up as the leg goes over you, catch the leg and kick the opponent away. <p>2. The game has a atmosphere to it which places it in a class of its own. Even the simple fact that you are in control of a mad fighter rabbit named Turner gives the game a supernatural feel. <p>3. Also, this game is the most addictive game I have ever played. There are so many different ways to incapacitate your opponents, be they rabbits or wolves. <p>4. The Challenge Mode gives you an interesting second option from the Campaign Mode.
Cons
1. Lugaru's campaign mode is a bit short. This is only a minor setback which doesn't really take away from the unique addictive feeling of the game. <p>2. Storyline is limited. If you are a gamer who relishes in deep storylines, the game is solely focused on the combat system as its source of appeal.

Pros
The combat system was awsome, it actually had better AI then some new commercial games, and it had incredible graphics for a game that you download. Also, it was very easy to register.
Cons
There were a few minor things that I didn't like, such as too much bounce on the knife, The fact that you can bleed to death, although this was fairly realistic, and some weird glitches. The music occasionally glitched, as well. You'll also need a fairly good computer to run this at even medium.
