Receive email announcements made with a real human voice.
LiSA, the Liquid Information Speaking Assistant for Apple Mail speaks with a real human voice when emails arrive, telling you who they are from. "You have a message from a friend". "You have a reply from your brother". On first use: LiSA needs to run for a few minutes to get any email you have on your email server before she can announce new ones. To use LiSA assign relationships with your contacts such as 'brother', 'boss', 'lover' and so on. When email arrives LiSA will then say: "You have a message from your brother". LiSA understands replies so can also say: "You have a reply from your boss". LiSA can announce all incoming messages or only those where you have assigned relationships - it's your choice. LiSA can announce the time, on the hour as well. LiSA includes a set of 50 voicetones for your iPhone, which will be automatically installed into iTunes on installing LiSA. To use, go into your contacts and choose the relevant LiSA voicetones as the ringtones for the person. LiSA requires that you use Apple Mail (where she will automatically get your email settings) and Apple Address Book (where she gets your contacts).

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This product is great whether youâ??re disabled, or not it is nice to have an all around product that recognizes your Address Book, Palm, Mail etc. to let you know if you have a reply or a new email and being able to adjust your Prefs. So it will not read any spam, but just your Address Book entry is another fine feature. This new version is what you need and then some. As an Engineer I highly recommend this product for the novice and the advanced as though I said above disabled, or not this is a must have! Thanks for the hard work! Michael

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />If you use your computer daily this is the only application you should ensure you have. A lovely female British voice makes simple announcements of who sent your e-mail, and the hourly time, never sounded so lusty.
And FYI, the customer service at LiSA is as exemplary as the application. Have a question? You'll likely be written by the developer, a true rarity these days.
Three words: check it out.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Makes my Mac even sexier. I always wanted the AOL "You've Got Mail" announcement on my .mac account but couldn't track down a mac compatible download. So instead I used the glass "tink" sound... Yawn. I did so want a voice...
Then I discovered LiSA, whose voice is so real she has my Mother answering when my Mac says "Good Morning". I love the fact you can choose the annoncement each person in your address book will receive. Makes getting e-mails fun again!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I have been using LiSA for at least a year and have become very used to hearing that appealing, yet businesslike voice announce my more important mail. When clients e-mail or potential clients send e-mail to my publicized address, I get an instant heads-up and can leave the "bouncy icon" in the dock turned off. This has become a "must have" app for me and I recommend highly.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I use LISA daily. I get a lot of mail all day long while working and LISA helps me know whether new mail needs to be viewed immediately or can wait. That it uses a pre-recorded voice means that the voice quality is excellent. On the other hand, it doesn't allow for customized alerts and you need to be creative about using its pre-set messages. Setup can be a pain because you need to enter senders manually. But all in all, I am pretty happy with LISA. I would like to see auto-integration with Address Book and an option to allow custom messages, even though they would use a computer voice.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This is an interesting speech demo, I guess, but it's not worth the time/effort to download. No, it doesn't integrate directly with Address Book. No, it doesn't get your email preferences from the Internet control panel. No, it doesn't integrate with Mail. No, it doesn't integrate w/ KeyChain. Yes, it has a cheesy Java UI instead of a clean native UI. No, it doesn't let you test arbitrary text to see how good it is. No, it doesn't read the time unless you pay $15. Yes, it polls your network servers very aggressively. Yes, it takes a while to launch the Java app. Yes, that's right, $15 for a speaking clock. To summarize: Don't Bother!
