Editors’ Review
LIAR Game is a free mobile party game designed for three to 20 players, built around deduction, bluffing, and quick observation. One player is secretly chosen as the liar, while the rest receive a common keyword from a chosen category, like Food, Netflix, or fashion brands.
LIAR Game unfolds in rounds where players take turns making statements tied to the secret word. Discussions follow to analyze contradictions and decide who’s lying. The format uses one device passed around, requiring players to read and react based on minimal information. It’s designed for flexible group sizes and fast-paced social play across multiple categories.
Bluff and deduce
Before the LIAR Game begins, select a category that frames the round. Categories range from food and pop culture to lifestyle labels, affecting the type of words everyone receives, except the liar. This mechanic sets up a subtle information gap that drives suspicion and strategic responses. The category doesn’t influence mechanics but helps provide variety. Once the word is assigned, players don’t repeat it directly but offer clues through conversation.
Each player states their turn, attempting to sound natural and consistent. The liar, who doesn't know the secret word, must improvise while trying not to stand out. Though there's no scoring or progression system, this entirely in-person gameplay depends on verbal interaction and how well players read tone, word choice, and timing. The app does not interfere once the round starts; no timers, prompts, or scoring systems that guide discussion.
After everyone speaks, the game shifts to a discussion round. Players compare notes, question statements, and highlight inconsistencies. The goal is to vote out the liar based on logic or hunches. There’s no automated adjudication; the group must reach a consensus. Once the vote concludes, the game reveals whether the accused was the liar. There’s no penalty or reward system, only the satisfaction of accurate detection or successful deception

Bottom Line
Truth, lies, and friends
LIAR Game delivers a straightforward social deduction mechanic without added gamification or system-based rules. It doesn’t include tracking, scoring, or AI guidance. It only provides the structure needed to initiate a round and relies on group interaction to drive gameplay. It does not offer solo or online modes, it's a face-to-face game centered around bluffing and logic. The game simply assigns roles and encourages live interaction..
