Finally! The facility to type Assamese in iOS device is now available for free download. Lachit is an app through which Assamese texts can be written on both iPhone as well as on iPad. It is the first of its kind developed for the Assamese language. The keyboard layout is so designed that the most frequently used letters are placed conveniently in the keypad. This will enhance the efficiency in typing.A sample Assamese sentence which contains all the letters and symbols of the Assamese alphabet is included in the app for practicing.Once typing is done, the text can be copied and pasted anywhere like Notes, Email, Facebook etc.
