For a free game, this platformer certainly has its share of positives, but we wish the overall object were clearer. As Keith, it's your job to paint every object in your boss's house to avoid getting canned. You'll have to follow the in-game hints to figure out how to jump and fire, as the HTML help file is broken. Strangely, after a few moments, we found ourselves in a large platform maze where we were firing at worms and other enemy creatures rather than painting furniture. Again, a functional help file would help solve this problem. The settings aren't particularly easy to access, but once you find them hidden in the actual game, you'll be able to redefine the control keys and adjust the music and sound effects. Keith Goes Painting won't amaze you with its graphics, but they are colorful and get the point across. As such, it's strange and a bit disappointing that the game consumes more than 70MB of system meory. But if you're willing to invest the time to learn how to play and you enjoy old-school platform-style arcade games, it won't hurt you to investigate this freebie.
