The Jetpack SDK is an easier way for Web developers to write add-ons for the browser. It is a set of tools that provides an easy-to-use and well-documented API for the Firefox platform. The Jetpack SDK makes common functionality easier and faster to make, while still exposing the extreme extensibility of the Firefox platform that's driven almost 2 billion add-on downloads. In particular, the SDK contains an extensible library of capabilities and APIs for writing Firefox add-ons, as well as stand-alone web-technology based applications, and a set of command-line tools that package and security-harden your code into distributable packages.
