iTrash for Mac helps you quickly remove unwanted apps and associated files that a typical uninstall can leave behind. With a streamlined interface and plenty of customization options, this app is a good choice for users of all experience levels.

Pros

Quick process: The main interface is just a small window with a trash can icon in the middle. To remove apps, just drag them to the window and drop them in. This causes a new window to pop up, listing the main app file as well as associated files to be discarded. From here, you can choose to remove all files listed or only some of them, and then process the deletion. All deleted files are moved to the main Trash on your desktop, so you can always go retrieve them later if you realize you put something there by mistake.

Ghost Mode and Ignore List: Turning on Ghost Mode allows the app to work in the background, so that whenever you put something in the Trash, it will automatically find any additional files associated with the original and give you the opportunity to get rid of them as well. This streamlines the process of using the app even further.

Cons

No Help: There is no Help documentation for this app. While most of the features are generally straightforward to find and operate, it's always nice to have something to refer back to if you have a question.

Limited trial: Trial limitations are certainly normal and expected, but this app only lets you try it three times before you have to decide to purchase.

Bottom Line

iTrash for Mac is a quick and efficient program to help you completely uninstall items from your computer. It works quickly and without hassle.

For what it is supposed to do (Getting rid of apps that won't go away) this was fantastic. It gives you the chance to try it three times before you have to buy it (It's $7.50. Very doable) and from what I see very thorough.

Haven't yet tried it with a more complex task, like removing an app that has common elements with other software, but based on others' reviews, I expect it won't be any trouble.
Summary
After downloading a lot of trial-period software, I used iTrash to delete everything I decided not to buy or keep. As far as I know, it pulled out everything it's supposed to, and there've been no issues since then. Couldn't ask for more than that. At $7.50, it doesn't hurt a bit.

Previously I used Appdelete but iTrash is much better. Especially the Ghost mode is a must have. Actually, Apple should consider to include this as default. Finds more files then any other comparable tool.

Anything remotely associated with Safari, for example, and it would go nuts. Went back to the free App Cleaner.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I wish they would be consistent; when you change an application name - don't refer to it by the old name (i.e.; (Ghost Mode : Background mode. Drop something in the trash and Apptrasher pops up.") This, is too thorough. When I update an app by throwing the old version in the trash this "ghost mode" finds, and would have you delete, many of the files still required by the new version. It would be good if when you added a application to the ignore list (right click) that it would uncheck the the delete checkboxes. I just discovered the little "tool" icon (bottom left) that permits (among other things) to deselect all. That's good. iTrash is very mono-chromatic - I would like to see the "delete" text ; (lower right) be reddish (both to signal its location and action) and that the "tools" location (lower left) have something to signal it is valuable. (or maybe the "delete" box in red and the "tool" box in blue) Finally, I just checked. When you throw something into the trash from another disk volume. iTrash only checks the active startup volume for accompanying items to be trashed. It should only look on the volume where the application was, methinks.

Applications distribute several files throughout your system storage devices. Deleting a application itself is mostly not enough and will leave several files untouched. Apptrasher uses a special search algorithm to find all related files and deletes them when asked.
