While some statistics on computer performance may be found easily, gathering and compiling them in one place isn't an option. With iStat Pro for Mac, you can view a simple widget with all your system performance information in one place.

Available as freeware with no restrictions, iStat Pro for Mac installs quickly and launches itself in the widget menu automatically. The program has limited support and options related to readout and measurement standards, but these limitations are not unexpected because of its stated purpose. The basic interface shows data for CPU usage, available memory, device and processor temperature, and cooling fan operations, as well as battery status and other information. You also have the option to monitor the computer from your mobile device. There are additional options to directly view the computer activity monitor, allowing you to close programs taking up CPU usage and memory. The range of temperature readings, which can be displayed in Celsius, Kelvin, or Fahrenheit, includes different areas of the system: enclosure bays, the hard drive, and heat sinks. The network statistics are also useful and provide easy-to-read information on upload and download speeds and connection information.

While it may be cluttered for some people, the iStat Pro for Mac widget contains useful performance data, especially for a free program.
