• The app has limited functionality & replaces a phone

  Pros

  This app is a substitute for a voice mail from the IRS that informs you of your refund status.If you e-file, you can check your refund in a few days.You will have to wait 3-4 weeks to check if you use a paper return, all the more reason to e-file

  Cons

  The IRS says that your information will be masked & encrypted.Until we see security certifications who knows if phone carriers can view your info & how secure is you SS# that you just entered? If your phone is lost or stolen,then what ?

  Also, don't have any high expectations of this app having breakthrough technology that might let you scan your W-2 to the IRS in lieu of filing Form 1040EZ or 1040A or being able to provide relevant content to your particular circumstance. If you have a simple return and your adjusted gross income is $58,000 or less you may be able to File Free from the IRS website or otherwise you will have to pay a fee to use one of these competively priced online tax preparation services, who offer competive pricing Don't forget to, e-file early and get that refund working for you now and start tracking your IRS refund status.
