Summary
1/ My OS/Browser My computer runs on Win XP, SP2. I use Firefox, not IE. Remark: InfoSniper points out that it runs on Vista only: AA/ Is anyone still using Vista? BB/ I have never learnt that HTML, PHP, etc could run on one specific OS only. 2/ My PHP To test PHP files on my computer I use XAMPP for Windows. XAMPP is for Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista. It contains: Apache, MySQL, PHP + PEAR, Perl, etc. My <Computer + XAMPP + Firefox> equipment runs successfully any PHP file from W3Schools Online Tutorials. 3/ InfoSniper Worldmap Visitors 1 The downloaded package includes: clear.gif, pin.jpeg, saved_addresses.php, worldmap.jpeg, worldmap.php, worldmap_track.php There is no explanation, no comment. 4/ My tests and results: 4-1/ worldmap.jpeg is a planisphere. 4-2/ worldmap.php displays the planisphere. That all it does. 4-3/ worldmap_track.php does not start at all. Four error messages are displayed. Le last one is without appeal: "Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'String could not be parsed as XML'..." 4-4/ I did not try saved_addresses.php, thinking it should be an output only. 4-5/ I gave up.
