iMindQ - Stylish Mind Mapping and Brainstorming for iOS

DropMind Lite is an app that lets users create mind maps, flowcharts, and other diagrams. It's a powerful way to organize information, but its many options make it somewhat difficult to get the hang of.

Pros

Full of Features: DropMind Lite gives you a wide variety of tools for creating diagrams. As expected, you can create topics and subtopics, but you can also include notes, links, images, photos, icons, and more. The app provides a variety of shapes and ways to create relationships between topics; and tags make it easy to organize maps by topic.

Sample Map: DropMind Lite's instructions come in the form of a map, which is a nice way to see the app's features in action. The sample map made it easier for us to figure out what DropMind Lite has to offer and how to achieve it.

Cons

Not Exactly Intuitive Interface: Despite the useful sample map, DropMind Lite takes a while to get used to. We imagine that it's probably easier to use on an iPad, but on the small screen of our iPhone, we found ourselves doing a lot of zooming in and out, and a lot of touching of unlabeled buttons trying to figure things out. We created accidental relationships between topics and had connector lines springing forth from topics like weeds. There's nothing wrong with DropMind Lite that can't be solved with a little practice, but users who expect to leap right into the app with no preparation are likely to find themselves frustrated.

Bottom Line

DropMind Lite is a flexible, powerful app that gives users plenty of options for creating diagrams. It's not the most intuitive app we've ever seen, though, and users will likely need to spend some time getting familiar with the app's features before they start creating maps like a pro. It's worth checking out if you find it useful to organize your ideas in mind maps or other diagrams.
