ImageAlpha for Mac

With its ability to modify certain images and compress them for viewing quickly on the Web, ImageAlpha for Mac may help those who publish photos or operate a blog. Unfortunately, it only works with PNG formatted images, limiting its overall utility.

ImageAlpha for Mac opens into its basic main interface after a quick download. The menu includes no graphics and looks very dated, but that didn't impact the app's operation. The user must drag a photo image file into the main rectangular window to import it to the program. This brings up an enlarged view of the photo, but with an additional background. Tiles along the left side give the user several options to change the background image, but these are limited and have a poor quality. A slider in the lower left allows the user to change the color resolution. Additional buttons to the right allow changes to the style of the image shading. A final slider allows the user to enlarge or shrink the image on the program's background. Unfortunately, the program only works with PNG files, so you won't be able to use any images in other popular formats.

ImageAlpha for Mac may be an acceptable application for basic modifications and compressions for Web use for users who do not need to work with multiple image file formats.
