  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Installed Dec 2005 on iMac G5 with 512 MB RAM and runs Windows ME--I know, I know--better than the PC I replaced with the iMac! (I only use it to run Microsoft Money and because I just don't want to lose years of financial records by switching to Mac-based software.) Have since added 1 GB of RAM and it runs even better. Truly first-rate manual with screenshots of what you will see as it holds your hand through the install. Has never crashed of hiccuped except when I did something foolish. When I did, I emailed their site and they responded almost immediately.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I'm a baseball fan, an specifically of Diamond MInd Baseball, which is solely a Windows based program. I bought Iemulator to run it. The installation for Iemulator are a model of what a manual should be. They take you step by step through what would normally be a hair-pulling process and made it a fairly easy. The price is reaosnable, and everything works as it is supposed to. What more can I say, except when I had a question about something the company responded almost immediately.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I have to admit that I was ready to give up on iEmulator: they promised Intel support back in the spring, but only got around to releasing it in June. It works GREAT, though! On my MacBook (an entry level 1.83GHz computer that I've upgraded to 1GB of RAM) it is so much faster than any other emulator I've tried! Sound finally works properly as well. There are still a couple of downsides: my Garmin GPS still doesn't work with iEmulator, and there's still no 3D hardware support (I really want to play F.E.A.R., but it won't run on iEmulator). Overall I'm happy with iEmulator (I've used it on a couple of my Macs for over a year), but the inability to use the GPS is a pain: I hope this is added soon!

I'm just waiting for Garmin GPS support!

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I'm not new to PC emulators on the Mac as I've used at some point SoftWindows, Virtual PC (not the current version though), Bochs, and now iEmulator. Configuration of iEmulator is about on par with earlier versions of Virtual PC (1.x), however, unlike Virtual PC it can have multiple emulated PCs running. Now for the hardware that I have been using iEmulator on. An old iMac DV/400 with 384 MB of RAM and MacOS X 10.3.9 On an older system such as this with no OPenGL acceleration, you have to uncheck the OPenGL rendering for the PC window to have it work. Performance is not steller however, it does work quite well at what it is supposed to do. The OS I'm running on it is Win 98 SE with updates. One thing that does annoy me however is that you can't run it in full screen mode as far as I can tell. There is one other thing that annoys me and I think it is connected to the fact that I'm using a machine that doesn't have OpenGL acceleration, namely that having Zoom (MacOS X's magnification software) on seems to not show the cursor in the PC window when Zoom is active. Despite these minor setbacks iEmulator is a good buy at the price and I expect that it will get better as some prior issues I had with the emulator have been fixed. Don't take my word for it though, shop around yourself and look at other emulators. On a side note, iEmulator is way easier to configure than Bochs :-/ Note: I'm a hard person to please so, my ratings are a bit lower than some here however, I feel they are fair.

It's faster than before and more stable. It still doesn't support USB to serial port adapters, but other than that, it's a bargain!

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />iEmulator is great for running x86 Linux or Windows 95/98/ME. Windows 2000 isn't particulary fast, while XP is sloooooooow. It's also pretty cheap. Cheaper than VPC too... Oh, and please people, this thing is based on the open source QEMU. You are 100% allowed to use open source code for whatever you want.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />iEmulator actually works REALLY REALLY WELL if your needs for an emulator are reaslistic and if you are willing to rely on Win95 or Win98 as your OS (WinXP is apparently slow although I haven't tried it) I have an iMac G4 1.25mhz with 768 MB of RAM. This emulator is running Win98 extremely well on my machine. I was suprised at just how responsive the OS felt. I even ran defrag to see if I could trip it up ... but defrag was BLAZING! I have two major programs that require I use Win98 and they both work flawlessly so far with this emulator. While I would love to use CD ROMS on the fly, USB, and some other features - they are simply not necessary. As you desire those more involved capabilities perhaps you should spend the extra money on a more beefed up emulator or just buy a small PC computer or laptop. I think some of the folks that have reviewed this emulator did so with unrealistic expectations of both the price and the youth of this new program. My advice is simply this: If you have Win95 or Win98, need to run a few basic programs that you can't get on your MAC, and if you understand that this is not a gaming system or a real PC replacement, then purchase iEmulator and be prepared to have your needs met and possibly exceeded! For example, I didn't expect it would be able to print so effortlessly to my MAC printer ... or browse the net so easily. But it actually can! Amazing! and inexpensive! Getting iEmulator to work requires a little bit of effort but if you contact their support team, you will recieve your money's worth just in advice and assistance alone. At this point, I cannot say enough good things about this terrific up and coming emulator. Be sure to give this one a chance ! I'm glad that I did.
