iCafe Server is the Internet Cafe solution for the Apple Macintosh. It runs native in OSX Cocoa. It is a true client server solution based on IP. For high automation a payment device for coins is connectable. Other payment devices will follow. You are able to present any service application to the surfstations ( iCafeClients ). Simple define services, type the cost per hour and select the application the user may use. iCafe client takes over control of the client. It can replace the finder and it is very hard to break through the barrier of iCafeClient. Last new features:

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br /><p>The screenshots sure make it look unpolished. It should be simple and easy to understand for anyone. The dialog boxes for even logging in are confusing and ambiguous. The web browser, albeit meant to be simple looks crude and thrown together. There is very little adhering to the ui standards of the Mac OS. Yes, it uses brushed metal interface, but that is about where the standards use end. This product has a ton of potential, but needs to be looked at by a gui designer to make all of that hard work in the back-end of the program look as good to the end user as it might to the programmers. A good example of this is the text, send cash string to server when a user logs out. What does that tell the end user? Very little. Instead, something like I am done and would like to check out, or simply "log out". But the latter is even too technical sounding. Also, why is there a menu that shows applications like something out of a registry? What is www2? Unless the end user knows the system, it just gets confusing. You may want to look at the other log in systems out there for some cues. Even the Mac OS X login screen would be a great reference for this. Simple, straightforward, and clean looking. Another good example is the Kinkos login system at their stores. </p> <p>I know all of this seems harsh, but it is because I really believe that the program has a lot of promise.</p>
