Hugin(64-bit) is an open-source panorama photo creation tool. It can put multiple photos together very easily and the end result is smooth and stunning. Hugin uses the same open source library used by many other software including shareware like PTMac from Kekus Digital. Hugin is, however, free and you can start making panoramic photos without buying any expensive software or equipment. Unlike many similar software, Hugin considers the shapes of the lens and can adapt to the particular distortion profile of your camera.
Better control points, Lacks layered output + masks

Pros
I have done over a 100 panoramas using various versions of Hugin. It has gotten better for novice users. However, see cons for expert users. It is good they went to 64 bit.
Cons
I have been using Hugin for 7 years. My inability to find the feature of layered output with masks, which is critical to cleaning up the panorama, is a serious drawback. Also, it doesn't seem to properly draw the previews.
Summary
I would up my rating if I can find out how to make a layered file.
WOW!!! Brilliant!!

Summary
I was happy to be able to try this (64 bit)version.
I tried this on a whim after using the panorama feature on a different download. This is a TOP RATE app!
I started with a simple 2 picture widescreen shot, which was so easy to do and turned out so wonderful (using wizard and all defaults) that I put it to the test. I loaded 10 forest images from my 3G iPhone that were taken on-the-fly 360. They were connected very well. I did need to add some extra connectors, but found the interface so intuitive that I did not even have to open a help file in order to figure out how to do that. After linking the images, I was even able to manipulate the composite image so that the maximum amount of the image was in a clean crop.
This program is easy to use and yet has deeply complex tools if you click around to find them. You can export the final image or the individual morphed files to re-assemble in another graphic editor.
The process that this program uses makes it possible to combine multiple images in one pass. LOVE IT!!!
