http-ping is a small, free, easy-to-use command-line utility that probes a given URL and displays relevant statistics. It is similar to the popular 'ping' utility, but works over HTTP/S instead of ICMP, and with a URL instead of a computer name/IP address. http-ping is compatible with IPv4 and IPv6.

Use http-ping to discover if a web site is responding to requests, test the performance of any web site, or load-test a web server.

http-ping's simplicity makes it the ideal choice for use in scripts that must detect if a web server is available and serving pages.

Is 5-Stars If the Developer Adds a GUI and Graphing

Pros
Just works as described: pings via http and shows the results. I had an issue with my ISP where ping times were always good but browsing was very slow. Worse, it was up and down, so troubleshooting was a nightmare. With http-ping I could run it and time my troubleshooting when things were bad or good. It also allowed me to show those folks that it was not my equipment. It deserves a 5-star review, but I want the developer to have the incentive to add a GUI and graphing capabilities like PingPlotter has for straight ping.

No GUI or graphing but still works great.
Summary
Hey developer! This tool is awesome and badly needed out in the field. Please develop it further and charge a fair price for it. I would be your first customer.
