• I really do not like it.

  Pros

  I have seen other software for this task and this one is made by amateurs. The good thing is it generates a report in PDF like any other software ... so.

  Cons

  Once the pictures are in you cannot change the order. To tag a picture (so it appears in the right place in the report) you have to go to a picture manager kind of thing, to come back to were you are editing you have to click on all the items to bring you back. Completely inefficient. Using this his a waste of time. Sorry, but if I could have a refund from this purchase it would be a very good thing as it was a waste of money too.

  I give it no stars at all. Sorry but honestly this is what I think.

  Pros

  This program can be used for any kind of inspection. Templates can be modified to fit your requirements or you can build your own template. Photo editing is done within the program. Costumer support is fantastic.

  Cons

  I cannot think of a con.

  Pros

  HIP is easy to use and the customer support is unbelievable.The program is feature rich and very easily adaptable to any situation you may need it for. There are great tutorials to help walk you through the program for the first time.

  Cons

  You need to be somewhat computer literate to understand some of stuff but HIP staff is more than happy to walk you through it.

  Summary

  I would easily recommend HIP to any Home inspector out there. The program comes in at a great price, you get great support, you have a large and active on-line community that is ready to assist you if you need anything. The reports look great and impresses your clients with how simple it is to read. As a Home Inspector you can't go wrong with this program.

  Working with Dominic and his staff enabled us to build an outstanding webwite and home inspection software report.

  Cons

  Building the website can be a little tedious.

  If you are looking to use the finest software for homeinspectors, you need to use Home Inspector Pro.

  Pros

  Relatively fast to use and learn. The owner of the company seems pretty responsive and answers your questions, but isn't very knowledgeable about the inspection/building trades, but maybe that doesn't matter.

  Cons

  After using it for awhile, I felt like I wanted more. Wasn't crazy about how the photos or comments works in the software. Felt a little disconnected to me as I was practicing writing a report with it.

  Summary

  I have used paper reports for years and my kids have been bugging me for a long time now to switch to doing inspections on a computer. I guess it is inevitable. My son told me to use Word, but that ended up taking too long, so I thought I would look at inspection programs. I plan on trying several of the different programs and I will try to write a review for as many as possible and I will try to say which one I end up buying -- or if I stick with paper! I also wrote a review for Inspect Master so far.

  Pros

  This program proved for me to be better than the other demos that i had tried. I finally decided on this program because of the extra features that the other programs had left out that really make the difference. It has proved to be as promised,and I am sure if I moved and needed anything added for my specific state, that the other programs do not have,the support staff will do there best to work on a modified version for the state. (At the time i was talking to the creator he was working on a modified version for Texas)

  Cons

  While initially the price seemed expensive to me, by looking around at the other sites with inspection software, theres was no cheaper but usally more money for less.

  Pros

  I ended up buying this program about a month after getting the trial. I tried this and 3 other programs and spent quite awhile comparing the three. I'm not the greatest with computers so I needed to choose carefully. I ended up going with Home Inspector Pro for several reasons. Most importantly I liked their support. They even helped me out with a few questions before I bought the program. I was surprised to see that the live help on their website had someone on to help me at 1am one time. Second, unlike one of the other programs I tried, it did not require me to purchase Microsoft Word (which was no good to me since I use OpenOffice and didn't want to spend a few hundred extra on microsoft word). I really liked how this program allowed me to add as many photos as I wanted, as I like to put lots of photos in my reports. California requires an earthquake form to be filled out and this is the only program of the four that included this. I'm not sure if this is needed in other states though. <p> It wasn't until a few days ago that I started to use the template feature in the program. I found it very easy to use and I added a few sections of my own into the program. The owners had sent out an email to everyone letting them know about their new flash tutorials and looking at them made it pretty simple for me. <p> I haven't tried out the ability to upload reports to their website, but one of my friends is using it and likes it.

  Cons

  It's not free, haha. Seriously though, $650 wasn't too bad as the other programs I looked at ranged from $500 to $1200.
