Superb online task manager & sync with mobile devices
wjfkee- Pros
- Very straight forward team capacity Really elegant browser interface Loads of features for free Totally intuitive to use
- Cons
- It doesn't make the coffee and or bake nice scones
- Summary
- I've tried loads of alternatives on a whole variety of platforms...and this really helps me stay organised, by being enjoyable to use without becoming absorbed by it's ingenuity.
Stay away from hitask!
MadHattter- Pros
- Superficially looks like a reasonable product but it is not usable. Customer service is the worst. The pricing is extremely misleading also - the site shows $29 but it is much higher unless you are a single user. Everything on the site is misleading.
- Cons
- The free version has so many limitations we purchased the business version and immediately found the product is still so limited we couldn't use it. We contacted customer service within 15 minutes of purchase and we were told they never give a refund and we should have read the terms of service.
- Summary
- Run away from hitask - this is a ripoff operation pure and simple.
Possibly useful app, ruined by awful customer service
SeanVeneer- Pros
- The app itself, if it fits your needs exactly works pretty well.
- Cons
- Don't try getting a refund if it turns out you don't like the Business level account, and don't expect kind customer service if you ever have an issue.
- Summary
- We have been desperately looking for a task/project management tool for our business for a little while now, and slogged through a ton of stuff that wouldn't work for us. So, when I saw HiTask, I felt like we'd finally found the one that would work. As it turns out, the program doesn't work for us. The problem is, if you want to even try out HiTask's Business level account, you have to fork over $30 just for the privilege of glimpsing their wares. This should have been a red flag off the bat, but after a day of looking through management apps and finding nothing, I wanted to see if this would be the one. Again, like I said, it turns out it wouldn't work out for us. It's impossible to have multiple people in a company share schedules on an hour-by-hour basis without the timeline getting impossibly cluttered. Allegedly there are companies that have hundreds of employees simultaneously using the timeline, but I have no idea how that would even begin to work. So, like I said, it wasn't for us, so we decided that we no longer wanted to use it, and because we made that decision within 24 hours of purchasing the subscription, I assumed that someone at HiTask would have the sense to give us a refund, since things were obviously not going to work out. I called HiTask's support line, and was greeted by a man, I forgot his name...and I explained the whole situation to him, that while the program has some great features, that it wouldn't be the solution we were looking for, and since it had been such a short period of time between our sign-up and decision that we didn't want it, they would employ some common sense and refund our money. Well, common sense and HiTask don't seem to be in the same realm. After explaining to the customer service rep that we just didn't like things and would like a refund, he of course said no. When I presented him with the facts of why the program didn't work for us, he said that maybe he'd be more receptive to our issues if we had been a subscriber for longer than we had been, and that because we'd only used it for such a short time, our criticisms and issues weren't valid. Needless to say, this made me incredibly upset and frustrated, that the rep would be more concerned with keeping $30 than actually helping someone out. His suggestion to fix our issue? Submit a feature request and wait for the developers to implement it...which is a great system, since they can still sit back and collect our money while we wait for an important, common sense feature to be implemented. I asked the rep why they require payment before someone could even see the Business account, and he explained that they charge that because HiTask is still in 'active development and programming'...that was a little funny, because I'm pretty sure all of the other task management apps are as well, and the offer free, no risk trials to their software. All in all, after an hour of arguing with the rep, I still didn't get my money back. I told him how unethical it was that they wouldn't refund the money of a dissatisfied customer, but he just ran and hid behind the EULA, eschewing customer service for legalese. Even if this product worked for us perfectly, I'd have a hard time recommending HiTask, since if you ever had a real issue, there's a good chance you'll be greeted with rude, combative customer service. When I told the guy that I'd be posting online about this experience, he said to go ahead, and that they have ways of dealing with 'libelous statements' ...well, hey, I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure it's not libel if it's true, pal.

seth346- Pros
- please read my review
- Cons
- I have never been on a site that cares so little about users. I was having problems prior to 8/6/11. Contacted support/William. Tried to help me, but couldn't. I will summarize below.
- Summary
- As stated, William can't help me. It seems as though hitask has changed some programming, that has messed me up, but since I'm the only one reporting a problem, I have been moved way down on the priority list. I spent days creating my program to fit hitask, now I am going to have to start over with someone else. I even tried to upgrade hoping that would solve the problem, but was told that it wouldn't work. In short I would not recommend hitask to anyone, and I think William is poor at support. Oh, I forgot to mention that I am from Montana, where we make thing right at any cost. Hitask should follow. Please do not use hitask for your business or personal day to day functions. I am trying to put together a web page to post next to hitask telling how poorly the operate. Marv
Bus. vers. Help sec. is sketchy. Support not responding
314141- Pros
- Just ordered for one month. Seems easy to use. Like the drop and drag feature.
- Cons
- Help section is very sketchy and we have gotten no responses to our emails to their support as to how to set up the system with 5 licenses. We have looked in vain for a phone number. We are trying the Business version.
