Hikari No Ribbon is a short non-branching storybook visual novel. The storytelling technique is catered to children, but the story is meant for audiences of all ages. Features include colorful original backgrounds, character artwork, music, and timely sound effects. Version 1.2 may include changed around some of the artwork and tried to make them look more balanced. Version 1.3 voice acting has been added. Added choices to read NVL mode or Normal mode. Added new ren'py special effects. Artwork has been completely revamped. Changed the midi music to ogg files.

Very colorful story. <p> <p> <p>It was well written, and drawn. <p> <p> <p>I liked the message of the story that we shouldn't be angry at each other for trivial things. <p> <p> <p>It lets you bookmark areas of the book you want to go back to...however it only takes 5-7 min to read.
Cons
This isn't a game...its a storybook. How this is clasified as an adventure GAME only CNET knows. <p> <p> <p>The blood and violence was not needed. <p> <p> <p>This game SCREAMS for a voiceover. Since the game is all reading, it would have been nice if had voices instead. <p> <p> <p>In the decription it says it's made for kids however its not approperate for kids under 10. <p> <p>They havn't improved anything since I last reviewed it. So it goes down a star.

The artwork in this visual storybook was lovely and well done. <p>The idea of a visual storybook is unique and fantastic, I hope to see more of these in the future!
Cons
This book appeared to be geared towards children. <p>I am not a child but I downloaded it anyway. <p>Call me a geek, but I just love fantasy. <p>I was a bit disappointed in this to say the least. <p>The storyline was quite tragic for a children's story. <p>I would NOT have a child watch this. <p>Also, it could have been my imagination, but I thought I caught a lot of political propaganda in the story as well. <p>I could be wrong though, I have become rather cynical over the years. <p>Other than the storyline itself this is a beautiful little "book".
