Used HideIt for Windows?
Editors’ Review
This program offers added security by hiding active applications and windows from prying eyes, but it was awkward to navigate.
HideIt has a very plain user interface. You'll find command buttons across the top of the window. Its not immediately clear what job each button performs. We had to roll the mouse over each one to reveal their identities. There are buttons for hiding the program window, refreshing the program list, hiding all of the windows, showing tagged windows, and displaying options. The options feature let you set password protection for hiding and showing programs. It also lets you create your own hot key combination for toggling certain features. When we tested the program, we were able to use our hot key combination to hide HideIt and enter our password. Clicking on a program under the running program list made it disappear and reappear again. There's a button for hiding tagged windows, but clicking on it returned nothing, and without a Help file to explain it, we were never able to figure out its purpose.
The ample, 60-day trial is plenty of time to try out the program, but you may want to use that time to find a better program. On another note, after uninstalling the program, we discovered leftover files in our programs folder. Luckily, we were able to remove them manually.
