HexaSuper2 is 3D graphics software that offers the standard object modeling interface without the high price. It renders your work as you go and has a tool palette, including a paintbucket, to change the color of objects. You can also make smooth curved surfaces from rough polygons and generate 3D outlines from a single picture with the program's 3D Manga function. This version adds some new features and fixes some bugs. The shareware registration fee is $54.

Summary
I use this program as a subdivision surface modeler for organic character creation. It compares very favourably with a program like Maya in this regard. Shusaku (the developer) have released HexaSuper3 for MacOS X and it has some amazing features such as photogrammetry based character modelling and it now also has OpenGL support. Unfortunately due to lack of interest there are no plans to market an English language version. Please show your support and email the developer! I cannot recommend this program highly enough for character modelling.

HexaSuper2 is the best modeling shareware program I have seen on mac. The manga mode is fantastic you can turn a sketch into a 3D model! I registered (It's a bargain just $54) and it exports nicely into many different formats (DXF, 3DS, Povray, etc) Wonderful for organic/symetry modeling. I highly recommend it. (Enmanuel Ulloa - Costa Rica, Central America.)
