Okay, so it doesn't have indepth graphics, what it lacks in visual candy it more than makes up for in it's true navy strategy simulation. I played it when it first came out. Loved it. Went and bought Harpoon II...Hated it. I got nastalgic about the fun I had with this version and was grateful to see it's still available. If your a true Navy Strategy buff, you'll enjoy this game eminsely!

You gotta know your stuff for this game. In the full version, you've got thousands of ships & subs and thousands of planes & choppers and thousands of weapons. The operative word here is: comprehensive. On the down-side, there's no modem play; it's just you against the computer.
Harpoon is the best strategy game , period.

Summary
As a military instructor I am certain of the reality of the concepts and senerios contained in the various Harpoon releases. I have played every senerio and have used it to augment my courses to provide real world situations for my students. We don't have to reley on past situations, where everyone already knows the outcome, instead we can create new senerios which allows the student to react to the unknown, as they would in a real world situation.
