Hair & Beard Lite+ lets you try out a variety of hairstyles -- both on your head and your face -- to see how a new look would suit you. Most of the app's content requires a $2.99 upgrade, but this free preview is enough to give you a sense of whether or not the app is worth it.

Hair & Beard Lite+ is intuitive and easy to get started with. You can take a photo from within the app, select one from the photo album on your device, grab a photo from Facebook, or simply use one of the app's four models. The app lets you adjust the image's position to ensure that the hair ends up in the right place. Hair & Beard Lite+ lets users try on nine male hairstyles and nine styles of facial hair. If you pay for an upgrade you can also have access to 162 normal hairstyles, 44 styles for hair that is balding, thinning, or shaved, 27 beards, 36 mustaches, and 27 goatees. The color of each style can be adjusted for a more realistic look. Once you've found a style you like, you can save it to your device's photo album, e-mail it, or share it on Facebook. The results provided by Hair & Beard Lite+ weren't perfect -- in all cases it was obvious that the hairstyle we'd added to our images was fake -- but we still think the app is a good way to try on a new style. It could be useful if you're considering a drastic hair change, and it's also a lot of fun.
