Editors’ Review
GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience was developed by Gameloft Bulgaria and released by Gameloft in 2013. It served as a sequel to GT Racing: Motor Academy. This racing game provided players with an experience similar to that of the Real Racing series, particularly Real Racing 3. This game is normally on mobile platforms but this page refers to its PC version.
GT Racing 2 featured an impressive collection of 67 licensed cars from more than 30 top car manufacturers. The game included 13 tracks, each presenting challenges that tested driving skills. It also incorporated changing weather conditions that added an extra layer of challenge to the races. Players could customize their cars in many ways, altering both their look and performance to better suit individual racing styles.
The gameplay of GT Racing 2 was designed to cater to both solo and multiplayer experiences. In the single-player mode, the game was divided into seven levels. Each level required players to compete against controller-generated ghosts that mimicked the driving techniques of real players, similar to those found in Real Racing 3. This setup helped players improve their skills by racing against near-perfect renditions of human opponents.
The multiplayer mode of GT Racing 2 was just as engaging. It allowed players from all over the world to compete against each other and form teams, adding a collaborative dimension to the game. The game boasted over 1,400 events, including classic races, duels, knockouts, and overtaking challenges, with new challenges introduced every week.
Gameloft discontinued GT Racing 2 on December 1, 2023. After this date, the game was no longer available for download on digital platforms such as the Play Store and App Store, and no formal announcement was made regarding its closure.
One of the notable features of GT Racing 2 was the ability to play it offline. This allowed players to enjoy the game without an internet connection, making it accessible anywhere and at any time.
Bottom Line
GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience offered a thorough and enjoyable racing experience with a wide range of cars, realistic tracks, and both online and offline modes.
