• Doesn't work at all; interface very ugly

  Cons

  Does nothing at all as far as Master and Wave volume, even at all default settings and hotkeys. Interface is extremely ugly, even with the few skins for the OSD it supplies. Using Windows 7 64-bit.

  Pros

  Easy to install and uninstall. Probably has a small memory footprint.

  Cons

  OSD is too small to see during the time it's presented. It doesn't work with multimedia keys or allow setting a hotkey sequence by pressing the key you want to use.

  Summary

  I was looking for a program to show an On-Screen Display when I changed my volume. This program only works if I assign a set of hotkeys for controlling my volume in addition to the multimedia keys.

  Pros

  Better way to control the volume in Winamp than Winamp's own global hotkey plugin because you're not required to have Winamp in focus to work.<p>Good way to control game volume quickly.

  Cons

  OSD won't popup when running games in full screen.

  Does what it says it does and does it well! Bonus application hotkeys.

  Wish I could increase/decrease the voume in user-defined increments (as opposed to the smooth slider, which takes time to go from say 95% to 10% volume)

  Pros

  I gave it a 5 because it really was exactly what i wanted. I've been using it for months now w/ no complaints- only a couple minor gripes. The best feature by far is the ability to quickly type my pre-chosen hotkeys to adjust or mute the volume. In fact, that was the main appeal to me- i couldn't stand fumbling around XP to mute when quickness was necessary. Although it comes with several skins, and a Skin Creation Package to make your own, there's only 1 i ever (and ever will) use. The others are all very similar & slightly ugly. Bottom line though- the program is great. It doesn't "wow" you, & it certainly didn't go above & beyond what i was looking for. But sometimes simplicity is best- & the highly configurable Global Audio satisfied what i needed.

  Cons

  Like i said, i'm getting rather bored being stuck in the same skin, but it's really the only one worth looking at. i tried to switch to one "ok" skin, but i missed having the decent one, regardless of being sick of it. So, i'd love, love to see some new (& plentiful) skins. But that's really all trivial in terms of the actual quality of the program.

  On-screen display is nice (even if the included skins are kinda ugly), lots of customization options.

  Crashes nearly every time I try to use it while playing games. And that's why I got it.

  Pros

  I could not find a quickset program compatible with my laptop to adjust the sound, but this works just as good. <p>I also found it very responsive to hotkey commands. <p>.....and it's free too.
