Create and modify bitmap images with various features.

GdPicture Pro is a high quality imaging ActiveX component to view, create, acquire, edit and print bitmap and vectorial image. It supports many image formats like tif, jpeg, jfif, png, pdf, ico, wmf, gif, exif, bmp, dib, fax, emf, pnm, pcx. Images can be cropped, converted, acquired from twain devices, rotated, combined, colors can be reduced, filters and effects can be applied. Watermarked text, lines, circles, curves can be added. GdPicture Pro can be used from any Windows development environment that can call ActiveX component including Visual Basic, Visual C++, Delphi, Visual FoxPro, PHP, ASP, IIS, MS Word, Access, Windev, Excel, .NET environment like C#, VB.NET, and REALbasic. Version 3 includes full TWAIN support for scanners, cameras, and Web cams.

Great product, bad support, bad documentation

Pros
I used gdpicture to build an image editor over the web as part of a major project that involves image processing. GdPicture is light, runs great and so far I have noticed no bugs on it.
Cons
Tech Support was awful, I never got response back from any of the channels available and I was on a hurry to get help with some issues. I even offered to pay for support but got no response. I wrote a note on the support forum and my note got deleted
Summary
Great product, works fine, it should be a 5 star product but you may feel alone when working with it, technical support is not good. Also the technical documentation can be improved a lot. I would recomend this product for small projects only, don't purchase gdpicture until you are able to try all the features you need, use the evaluation license first. For larger projects you probably may want a serious company backing the product. I tried to get support via the support forum and email and never got response, after 3 weeks I found a workarround to my issue, I posted a second note on the support forum saying how I was able to solve my issue and also saying how disapointed I was with technical support and my post got deleted! Not even a "sorry" note.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Feb 1, 2010<p/>Here is a list of functions I was able to implement with gdpicture: open and display multiple image formats from disk, ftp and http. save images in multiple formats to disk and ftp. crop, resize, rotate, flip, modify contrast & bright levels, implement copy and paste functions, take screenshots from the desktop. There are another features that gdpicture does but I didn't need to implement: add lines, sqares, circles, etc. Add bar and pay charts, acquire images from a scanner, work with PDFs and probably a few more features that I'm not familiar with.
