This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Installed on Macbook Pro with 10.5.6. Found my Nüvi 255w, and updated the firmware without problem. Version 2.0.5 is supposed to fix compatibly problems with 10.5.6, but I didn't have problems with 2.0.4 and 10.5.6.

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I just updated my Garmin StreetPilot C530 from v 3.30 to 5.7. The Garmin <beta> Web Updater worked flawlessly.
You must be a bit patient ... it took about 20-30 seconds for the StreetPilot icon to show up on my mac's desktop via the USB connection. Once that happened, the Garmin Web Updater located my GPS unit easily and updated the software quickly. It even gave me the option to update other software on my unit, if desired. The License Agreement text even appeared (after a very short delay), for those interested in reading it before updating. ;-)
BTW: I am using Mac OS X 10.4.9 (PPC).

...100% Though
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Installed this on a MacBook Pro 17" running 10.4.9.
Garmin Etrex Vista C was the USB connected device.
The updater found the device straight away and I selected "update".
The Licence Screen appears Blank, I selected accept anyway and it completed the install without any further trouble.
I fly and Boat and an VERY pleased Garmin is putting support in to the MAC and their products.
From Go to Whoa was about 3 Minutes.
Garmin finally comes to the Mac!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
After years of schlepping my SteetPilot 2610 to a PC for updates Garmin has developed a sweet little updater. Works super fast and flawlessly. Only bug was a blank screen for the software agreement before loading. I clicked OK anyway and the firmware install worked fine. A very nice looking and intuitive interface.
it worked great

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
After riding a bus equiped with a garmin c340 I knew I had to have one as my wife and I do a lot of traveling. It performed beautifully on our first trip from NC to Tenneessee. It did lock up once and I didn't bring the directions but upon returning home had it going in less than 10 seconds (directions are wonderful when you read them). I have a mac and found the beta version on-line and downloaded it to my Mac Powerbook G4 with no problems.
One drawback on our trip was looking for stores. It found the stores but some have been closed for years.
