Summary
This software was extremely hard to use, it did not give the option for what website to point the gallery to (it kept setting it to the subsite address). When I tried to manually correct this error, I could not log back in to the admin control panel. I also could not download the plugin files from the Gallery 2 website. I dumped it within 24 hours of installing it on my website.

It seems to be a good open source. A lot of useful add-ons available, too.
Cons
It's kinda complicated for novice users who want more than simply upload and share pictures.

I tryed this product on my computer and I think it has almost everything I am looking for.
Cons
It DOESN'T work with php - SAFE_MODE ON. Because of almost every webhosting in my country (Czech Rep.) has safe_mode ON, this program is useless for me. Sorry for my English.

I have been using Gallery for quite a while now and have always been impressed with it's features. They just keep improving it too. Now it can be embedded in several popular content managment systems or a stand alone photo gallery. Let's face it.....you can't beat the price either!

Gallery is a Web-based software product that lets you manage photos on your Web site. You must have your own site with PHP support in order to install and use it. With Gallery you can easily create and maintain albums of photos via an intuitive interface. Photo management includes automatic thumbnail creation, image resizing, and rotation, ordering, captioning, and searching. Albums can have read, write, and caption permissions per individual authenticated user for an additional level of privacy. Give accounts to your friends and family and let them upload and manage their own photos on your site.
