Watch an animated 3D particle fountain while listening to iTunes.
Fountain music is an iTunes visualization plugin. It animates a 3D particle fountain synchronized with the playing music. Particles appear in rhythmic bursts and then fall, cascading downward to darkness.

I hit escape and got back to itunes. Default itunes visualization plugin works fine but everytime I go back to the fountain, the image is corrupted/scrambled.
I tried uinstalling and reinstalling, no luck.

One thing I would love to see is support for higher-res monitors; I have 2 monitors hooked up -- one 1280x1024 and one 1680x1050, and unfortunately it won't play on the 1680x1050 monitor. I can just image how awesome it would be with TWO monitors running fountain music at the same time!

Try playing it with NFL Films Autumn Thunder. Just great! It seems to place a lot of amplitude of the splashes on the high frequencies of the music, however it is done quite well. Great job! On an iMac G4 at 1.87 ghz I'm getting an average of 24 fps full screen. Works for me.
STUNNING!!!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
WOW, what an absolutely stunning app! I tried it with two of my favorite compositions (the Rachmaninoff Sonata for Piano & Cello, and Gustav Holst's glorious "The Planets") and had the most remarkable visual/musical experience of my life. I may never be able to listen to music again without this wonderful application!
Bravo!!

A few tweaks & it will be virtually perfect.

A GUI for setting the configs in addition to the runtime configs.

An option to set the persistence of song info & image.

Support for double byte chars, so i don't end up with a bunch of ?s every-time I get non-roman text.

Keep up the good work!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is the only visualizer I really like enough to just stare at and watch. Most visualizers (the default one especially) are just big messes. A screen full of trippy colors with lines of varying squiggliness doesn't really add anything to the music. It looks virtually the same for all tracks, and it just gets old.

Fountain, on the other hand, is very elegant, and the visuals actually reflect the music quite well. It's especially nice with instrumental pieces. I'm listening to a lot of my piano tracks now just so I can watch the fountain gush along perfectly with them.

It's also a lot faster than the default visualizer. On my aging 450MHz iMac DV+, the effect is pretty smooth even in full-screen mode. I rarely see it dip below 20fps, and it usually pushes out 25+. iTunes' default visualizer only gives me 10-20 in full screen, and that's when I have it set to the "faster but rougher" display mode (which is pretty ugly).

I used to scoff at visualizers, thinking they only detracted from the music, but Fountain proved me wrong. This is a great visualizer, and it really does complement music well. What more can I say? You'll like it even if you don't like visualizers.

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go back to staring at my Fountain...
