- Summary
- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is really an excellent application for Video "Clip" management. The only thing I am waiting for is HDV 1080i compatability. I own the Sony HDR HC7 and have Tapes piling up waiting for Foottrack to get an update for HDV! Please Hurry! Highly Recommended.

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using FootTrack for some months now, and it just works perfect. It is very nice to have small versions of my whole movies/tapes in mini-format on my HD and they don't take much space. I hardly ever watch the full-size video's anymore anyway. Browsing is easy like in iPhoto, and it supports smart-album alike tapes. Very well thought application; only thing missing is compression while capturing (without having to import the full-sized movie). Keep up the good work!
Best of it's kind, and then some

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Before undertaking the somewhat gigantic task of organizing 50 DV tapes, I decided to take the top dogs in this class of apps out for a run around the block with 5 tapes. I tried out iDive, iVideo, and FootTrack, and I have used iViewMediaPro for a long time, but FootTrack was the winner for features, flexibility, ease of use and cost. If you have a digital camera, you should have this app. It is that simple. Download it and try it out. The demo works great, 2 tapes with up to 100 segments. I captured one, and imported one imovie project, and headed straight for the buy it button.
Great new version

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Such a smart and easy program. Back in version one, I asked for the ability to "group" across tapes, and this version has it--great! It really makes the difference between a huge mass of almost meaningless videos and a useful collection in which you can find any particular clip quickly and easily. Love it!

I just had a problem this past week trying to merge 2 catalogs made on different machines and ran into several problems, that upon final review turned out to be of my own making. Developer worked with all weekend sorting this out until I was able to get my merged catalogs working properly. Again, this was all due to my mistakes, not the developers. A great developer, a great product well worth supporting. Thank you Todd!

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is a very clean, easy to use program that really fills a need. I've also looked at CatDV, which seems excellent, but may be too much muscle for hobbyists.
My one wish is that I could move clips from multiple tapes into one folder. In other words, all my "Halloween" clips go into a Halloween folder, regardless of what tape they're on. Add this and it's perfect!
(almost) perfect!

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
this software is absolutely great! Saves me hours of frustrating search through my (up to now unsorted) video-material! Support reply is incredibly fast! After the finalcutpro support is integrated and the seach-funcion widened to search for dates etc. it's just unbeatable!
