This application helps kids hone basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills using a simple, easy-to-follow format. The installation package is larger than you'd expect, though it consumes little system memory. The interface is straightforward, though its design isn't particularly appealing. After a kid creates a student profile and inputs her or his name, the program will administer a placement quiz to see how knowledgeable she or he is, though parents also can choose tests manually at any time. FlashCard Magic makes students answer a certain number of questions within a specified period of time. Onscreen graphs display the percent of correct answers and of questions remaining, and you'll find a tool for tracking your child's progress. Apart from that, though, you won't really find any notable customization options. All things considered, we think FlashCard Magic makes a decent virtual math tutor.

I homeschool my 3 children. What I like about this product is that it sticks to drilling math facts. So many other math games are just that - games. I want my kids to learn math, not play games. All my kids have benefitted from this product. If you home school, flash card magic is a must-have.

It was so easy to put it on my computer. My kids starting playing right away and now they fight over who gets to play first. My son hates math but is getting better at multiplication. I recommend it to other parents.

Summary
I've tried a couple other flash card programs but they all required me to set it up for my child each time they played. I didn't always have the time so my child didn't practice. Finally, a product that does it all automatically. Best of all, my child's basic math skills really improved. The training video was great!
