  It use to help me find my Iphone without that much trouble

  Cons

  This new stupid update says my Iphone must be connected to the internet to be able to find it. I have now clue where my phone is right now because it says it is off line or something! Such an unreliable app

  This new update has ruined it because I don't keep my phone connected to the internet all the time so what is the point. Very untrustworthy app

  Worked really well but my iphone was close and it couldn't locate.

  Then i made a mistake in accidentally removing the device from the device list.

  Cannot change your devices 4 digit lock code after you loose the device.

  Summary

  I lost my iPad, which DID NOT have a passcode. I locked the device one time and the passcode i chose was already known by the person who stole it, so they typed it in and turned off lost mode. The continue to just turn it off every time i lock it. The new find my iPhone app does not give you any option to change that password, which is totally absurd. The person who stole my device ALREADY KNOWS THE PASSCODE and i simply need to lock the device using a DIFFERENT passcode.

  Pros

  This app is absolutely amazing! I was able to track every location the person had been and once they stopped for awhile, I went to the nearest police station and had them go to the door and set off the alarm on my phone. Such an amazing invention - thanks to this app I left the police station my brand new iPhone 5 in my hands!

  Cons

  Not the app's fault - but it sucks that the perp can shut your phone down completely which doesn't allow GPS function to work.

  Not so good for tracking a stolen phone. The thief can just turn off the phone.

• I had my iphone stolen and the police tracked it down

  Pros

  Worked really well could track it down to a address where it has been stolen. nice lost mode which lets you lock your phone and put a message on the screen. remote wipe is nice too, never had to use it as the police got it back.

  Summary

  This product works really well i had my phone stolen, when i noticed it was gone i got on the computer and started tracking it. You can lock the phone and put it in lost mode, so gives you peace of mind that nobody can go though your data. After tracking it down to a house i called the police i gave them the address and there went and arrested the guy that had stolen my phone. Got my phone back took it out of lost mode and could sleep easy. A++

  I use it a few times/year to find my iPhone or iPad. Also lets me see where my kids are - an underrated use

  Cons

  It requires you to sign in way too many times. If you check the location once and then re-check just a few minutes later, you have to sign in again. Way too cumbersome.

  Pros

  Accidentally laid my phone down in Target. I knew exactly where I left it, but it was GONE. Saw on "Find My iPhone" app that it was now in a residential area nearby, so we followed it. Led us to the exact house, where a lady's child had picked it up, unbeknownst to Mom. Thank God the little girl was honest and gave it back! Yep, pretty incredible. Smaller radius than the one I got on AT&T Family Map.

• Reunited, and it feels soooo good!

  Pros

  Thank goodness for the Find iPhone app! My daughter's phone was stolen at a crowded, metropolitan location 6 days ago, and I thought FOR SURE it would never be discovered again. After several failed attempts of reaching the iPhone by calling/remotely locking and remotely locating it, I suspended service and started shopping for a new phone. Since the phone was turned off, Find iPhone could not determine the location; but after 6 days, the thief turned the phone on again. Out of curiousity, I decided to unsuspend service and try to locate it again. Sure enough, it was discovered at a local mall and after a bit of detective work, I was reunited with the device.

  Cons

  It would be quite helpful if Find iPhone would provide not just a general location, but also an address and a GPS relation point. For example, if the handy "blue location travel dot" would have shown my physical location in relation to that of the iPhone, I may have spent a few less hours interrogating mall employees, while trying to align myself with the phone.

  Summary

  I'm thankful for Find iPhone in this case. I can see how thieves disabling the app or keeping the iPhone turned off can be problematic in serving it's purpose; but in my case, it was instrumental in reuniting me with my daughter's property. I'm truly grateful for this app!

  Pros

  find my phone app can help you find your phone is you've misplaced it in your car, home or off the roof of your car....period. chances are you've lost it and/or someone else has stolen it, unless you are a good detective, you will never see it again and have become yet another victim of ATT / APPLE, because you will most probably buy another phone, for even more $$ (+APPLE), AND that person will set up a new account (+ ATT). So there are your Pros for ATT and APPLE, not the consumer (unless they are the thief)

  Cons

  if your phone is stolen, anyone can turn it off, disable the find my phone app, in which case you won't find it anywhere. ATT will not help. IMEI # is traceable by ATT but they won't give you any information except to tell you another customer has set up an account using your phone.

  Summary

  bottom line: ATT / APPLE, only care about new customers, whether they are honest or not. It's sad when people that steal are protected even though they are using a reported stolen phone. I don't understand how this continues and nothing is done to stop it.
