Scan, complete, and print paper-based forms.

FillOutAForm can either convert a PDF file to a BMP file and then open it (using the free GhostScript program), or open a BMP file you obtained by scanning a paper form. You can scroll the form with your mouse, enter data anywhere on the form, edit an entry, move it, or delete it. And then print it with your entries (which are saved and put on the form when you open it again). You can enter simple arithmetic formulas that can reference other entries (the result shows).

Version 2.93 added Landscape orientation editing and works with any Ghostscript version past 8.0.

The program produces a clean, neat form without a lot of hassle, memory, or investment of time.
Cons
Documentation is weak and some of the editing tricks need to be learned by experimentation. The .dta file extension is confusing and causes some problems returning filled forms to a .pdf format for submission. This later is not a program function.
Summary
This is a great product for home use.

this programs works great for those quick little jobs that you need to get done. It's simple and works simply.
Cons
I would like to see some sort of option that would let you choose how it displays on the screen. As it is now, you have to continuously scroll all around the screen looking for the information that you want to reveiw or modify.

Pros
It's very good. I was looking for a program that my mother could use to edit lease papers for our family's apartment tenants. It's pretty simple, and it gets the job done for sure.
Cons
The editing process is easy, but the undoing of input errors isn't as obvious. Even though it's explained in the help, I like having the obvious 'undo' funtion that exists in standard editing programs. I don't like how the document is automatically saved/overwritten; an option to save progress would be wonderful instead of having to scan the document again. Speaking of scan, it would be nice to scan the document directly into the program instead of having to scan the image, find the file, and then open it in FOAF. This is a great program that should offer a little more flexibility.
