Summary
Ditto for me. Says the Windows Media DLL isn't registered, and won't start. After attempting to download the fix from their web site (the link is dead), and re-install Windows Media, I have given up.

It is not simple program but powerful and requires a little bit of knowledge. After playing a while I was able to acomplish many of its task without any problems. If you have installation problem see their support pages, it is not software fault.

Wanted to try the demo version, as I have a bunch of files I need to convert to other formats, but after installing the demo and rebooting--with no other programs running, mind you--the program generated fatal errors almost immediately and shut itself down. Twice. Something about the audio generator not being registered...well, it's a demo version, duh!
