Editors' Review
Falcon is a Twitter client that lets you view trending and popular tweets. What it doesn't do, however, is let you view your own Twitter feed or post tweets, so it will probably be of limited usefulness for most people.
Pros
Decent performance: Falcon doesn't do a whole lot, but it's not bad at what it does. It allows users to easily see trending topics around the world or in particular countries, and users can search for particular keywords or hashtags. You can also view the most popular tweets. The app updates tweets and trending topics in real time, so you can keep an eye on what's going on as it happens. A history feature lets you quickly revisit previous searches.
Straightforward interface: Falcon won't win any beauty contests, but it is very easy to navigate. A menu icon in the upper-left corner gives you access to its five navigational buttons, which then slide back out of sight when needed.
Cons
Limited features: We like Twitter and use it regularly, but we don't see much point in Falcon, particularly because it doesn't allow you to do the two most important things that people use Twitter for: posting your own tweets and reading the tweets of your friends. You can pay $0.99 to upgrade so that you can tweet, but why bother when there are so many excellent Twitter clients available for free? If you're more interested in staying on top of what's trending on Twitter than anything else, Falcon may hold some appeal, but we predict that most Twitter users won't be too interested in its limited offerings.
Bottom Line
Falcon appeals to a limited subset of Twitter users: those who are primarily interested in trending topics and popular tweets. If that's your cup of tea, Falcon is worth checking out. But if, like us, you primarily use Twitter to keep up with friends and share what's on your mind, skip this app and go for a more traditional Twitter client.
