• Just another "AV" FRONTING as an AV but REALLY A VIRUS!

  NONE! NEVER DOWNLOAD THE FREE PRODUCT AND DO NOT WASTE A PENNY ON ANY OF THE PAID VERSIONS IT IS A VIRUS!!!

  TOTAL CR*P!!! Every time I tried to download it other programs open or not the miniature, rectangular download box from C-Net that says, "Preparing your installation, please wait..." will appear and the green "loading" bar will appear and then freeze about halfway under the bottom of where the first "n" installation starts. If I quit out of the box I get several pop-ups of the following "Lua Error!" box: At the top of the box in the clear border where the "title" of the program, web-page name you have up is, etc shows the green white arrow C-Net download Icon and the words "Lua Error!" on the left and the "Red" close "X" on the right. I get an error message in the white box below that I have never seen before and am baffled by it, but it is too long to post in the stupid character limits of this "cons" box so I shall post it below in the "15,00 character summary box".

  This is the "Lua Error!" I get: The error message in the box is as follows: []Error Evaluating if(FIRST_BUNDLE ~=nil and not offer_events.loaded == true ) then startIntegratedOffer(262652,1590,true) end -- C:/BM/2.5/_WEBINSTALL/BINARIES/downloadcom/production/setup.exe.nsi:Line1374.2 ERROR:[[C]:-1](field addConnection) |...ie\AppData\Local\Temp\nsjE2A3.tmp\BrowserControl.lua:136: bad argument #2 to 'addConnection' (Object type is wrong) Then in a slightly darker, gray-ish area, an approximately 3 inch tall rectangular shading at the bottom to make a "separate box" is a rectangular "OK" button, which I have never pressed. As I stated previously, after an initial FAILED download, which ALL of mine were for unknown reasons; if I click out of the rectangular "Preparing to install, please wait..." I have waited over 2 hours to get it to load and it ALWAYS freezes under the first "n" in installation, EVEN WHEN DOING A CLEAN INSTALL ON A BRAND NEW 64bit win7 laptop vs trying it on my about 2 year old Toshiba Satellite... (feel free to laugh, it was a forced replacement because my brother's a douche bag and smashed my innocent Asus and my parents forced me to get a laptop covered under the warranty and that's the only thing the f*kers at ~coughcoughbestbuycoughcough~ had on stock that fit the "bill", ~sighs~ my parents basically trashed it anyway (the Asus) due to dad's insistence of carrying my backpack over just one shoulder and having it fall and get a BSOD, mom forcing a flash drive that went through the wash to work on it and then for no reason going black after 10 minutes and then a horrid battle with FAIL SQUAD because I couldn't do anything with it to fix it on my own which I could have if I could get it to turn on far enough pat the black screen to get to any inner workings of the hard drive, but that was a FAIL, so I had no choice, but to take it to the place we avid techies dare not speak of...they were supposed to fix the black screen and remove the black screen and the viruses, but alas only removed the black screen and the viruses were so much worse I couldn't get the main screen to work for more than three seconds on regular start-up, safe mode or any other mode and so fixing it was out of the question so my brother smashed a pill of sh!t...) anyway back to the problem at hand... and after having to do a FORCED quit of that box due to the stuck load box on both installs I get SEVERAL pop-ups of the SAME "Lua Error!" box errors mentioned earlier and EVERY TIME I click the "X" on one box AT LEAST 2 MORE POP UP!!! I just tried clicking "OK" on the FINAL "failed" install I shall test of this SORRY EXCUSE OF A SO CALLED ANTIVIRUS THAT IS ACTUALLY A MALICIOUS VIRUS IN DISGUISE! THAT JUST GOT ME MORE POP-UP BOXES LIKE PUSHING "X" DID AND AFTER SEVERAL TIMES OF PUSHING "OK" THEY ALL DISAPPEARED!!! The only "UPSIDE" was that by pressing "OK" was that fewer of the "pop-up" boxes appeared!!! DOWNLOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK AND IF YOU VALUE YOUR COMPUTERS HEALTH AND SAFETY DO NOT DOWNLOAD AT ALL!!! IF YOU VALUE WHAT LITTLE MONEY YOU HAVE TO SPEND ON AN ANTIVIRUS, SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO PAY FOR ONE...THEN DO NOT...I REPEAT...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS VIRUS!!! THERE ARE FAR BETTER, REAL AND TRUE ANTIVIRUS PROGRAMS OUT THERE THAT ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! IF I COULD GIVE IT LESS THAN ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!!

  Summary

  I used to use F-Prot for dos back in the old days when I ran a FidoNet BBS, it was well respected back then, and I bought a commercial license for 30 Windows seats at a very reasonable cost for my last company about ten years ago, where it worked admirably, catching many virus and trojan during that time. I had not used F-Prot for several years, and at home, I'd simply used one of the three "biggie" free AV products. When one computer began showing signs of virus, I tried several different free AV products and anti-malware products, but nothing helped, to the point I thought the hardware might be going out. Tried F-Prot, and it did indeed find one trojan, which seemed to have been the problem. I purchased the product, $29 for five home computers. Bottom line, F-Prot has been around for a very long time, has a great reputation, and I just plain trust it.
