• Get's the point across.

  Pros

  Installation was straightforward and simple. I purchased,- for $20, certainly a reasonable price for this product. I'm running the software on a small netbook that's going with me to Italy. voice recognition software works for input. (Nuance Naturally Speaking)

  Cons

  The actual translation process takes several seconds or more, depending upon the length. (perhaps due to my low-end netbook.) If you are not precise with your sentence construction, grammar etc, and spelling, you will get some unexpected and likely poor results. You can check the outcome by translating the other way, i.e. , from Italian back to English. One thing quite frustrating was when going from Italian to English I got a series of pop-ups indicating malfunction/errors with the software and that I should notify the author. If you continue to click past several of these errors, you eventually get a window with the English translation.

  Summary

  Since no one in our group of four travelers speaks Italian, I believe this will save our butts. If anything, it should impress the locals to the point where a friendly exchange might begin. Wish us luck!
